MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide an environmentally acceptable, alternate, cost effective and sustainable waste management services to our customers.

We strive to achieve greater levels of customer satisfaction, create a deeper awareness of costs and to conduct our business in an honest and diligent manner

Commercial Waste Services, a Close Corporation registered in South Africa, in the year 1994, has been an active roleplayer in marine waste management since inception.

SERVICE

For the past 25 years we have supplied service to Ship Repairers, Ships Agents, Ship Owners and Hatch Cleaning companies in the Port of Durban.

Our operations are geared to the marine industry and we have all the necessary tools and equipment to handle all waste types, from general waste to low hazardous wet and dry waste.

Commercial Waste Services holds all the necessary permits and licenses to operate in the Port of Durban. 

Our vehicles are permitted to enter all areas in the port.

Our staff have also been inducted via Transnet to enter, and work in any area of the Port of Durban.

We are well versed in the National Environmental Management Waste Act, 2008(Act 59 of 2008) pertaining to the safe handling and disposal of all waste types.

We are compliant with the Customs Act pertaining to the collection and disposal of waste from foreign vessels.

We are a member of the Institute of Waste Management oF Southern Africa (IWMSA).

We are licensed with Transnet and hold a license in terms of Section 57 of the National Ports Act No: 12 of 2005.

We are permitted to conduct a schedule tradeoccupation in terms of Section 1 of the Scheduled Trades and Occupation Bylaws for the City of Durban.

We are licensed in terms of S.49 of the National Environmental Management Waste Act, 2008(Act 59 of 2008) "NEMWA. Our site is classified as " Storage including Temporary Storage and Sorting of Hazardaous Waste" (H:H)
